Students writing prospectuses, theses, dissertations, or projects will find The Southern Seminary Manual of Style helpful in addressing many of their formatting questions. Students should follow the style and citation guidance outlined in the Manual of Style; however, some formatting elements are unique to the doctoral programs. A prospectus, thesis, or dissertation follows the general style guidelines but also requires some additional elements.

Thus, templates for the prospectus (PhD) and dissertation/thesis (PhD, DMiss, EdD, ThM) are linked below to assist doctoral students. Pay close attention to the front materials and end materials and details regarding chapters.

Templates for research papers and book reviews, sample theology papers, and workshops can be found on the general resources page.
